Last week news from Brazil suddenly allowed Ethereum to make a new leap forward in their reference prices. It has in fact emerged that the South American country is implementing a specific decision-making process based precisely on this cryptocurrency, in order to approve popular law projects. But how?

The constitutional system in force in Brazil allows the possibility of discussing regulatory designs on the initiative of citizens, if at least 1% of those entitled to vote request it. A percentage that is certainly not easy to stem, especially in a country where there is a wide fragmentation of the demographic distribution, and in which it is not always easy and quick to certify the authenticity of the signatures and the identity of the citizens, with the consequence of making this discussion process rather difficult.

Well, in the intentions of Brazilian legislators, Ethereum it could, however, ensure the availability of a new system, democratic and with horizontal control, which could be used to give citizens a decision-making power that until now has been unexplored. Thanks to blockchain of Ethereumin fact, data could be inserted from any decentralized unit, guaranteeing the same citizens and authorities the possibility of verifying authenticity in real time and thus reducing the risk of fraud and fraud.

In short, confirming the versatility of the blockchain, the South American country could become the first to positively explore this opportunity, taking advantage of the cryptographic data protection system to protect the security and privacy of the proposers. It remains to be clarified whether this idea will actually translate into reality, thus allowing a Ethereum to be able to open a new breach in the many possible developments announced, or if instead the country will decide to abandon this path, due to the technological obstacles that it could entail.
