  • According to Newsis, a South Korean blockchain authentication procedure developed by a private company will be adopted by the nation's military. The project was conducted in collaboration with Military Manpower Administration, an agency of the Ministry of Defense.
  • The Bitcoin payment processor BTCPay Server has announced its BTCPay Vault, a desktop application that allows communication between the user's hardware wallet and BTCPay using the complete Bitcoin node.
  • Paxos, issuer of the popular Paxos Standard Token (PAX) stablecoin, has launched a new automatic transfer feature that allows its customers to automatically transfer funds from their bank accounts to PAX or Binance USD (BUSD). Once set up, the process will work without requiring users to log into their Paxos account.
  • Telecommunication giant Vodafone Group Plc has left the Libra Association. Bloomberg reports that the association has now fallen to 20 members considering the previous separations of Visa Inc., Mastercard Inc., PayPal and others who had engaged in the Facebook project but detached from it before the group signed an official contract. The Libra Association said that members could change over time, but that Libra's governance and technology design ensures that Libra's payment system stays firm.
  • The main cryptocurrency payment processor BitPay has launched support for XRP and has announced eGifter and CareUSA among the first merchants to accept this cryptocurrency as a payment method at launch.    
  • A Venezuelan university will offer citizens from across the country free training on cryptocurrencies with specially organized seminars. According to a state media report, the Universidad Nacional Experimental de Telecomunicaciones e Informática will offer sessions on cryptocurrencies and the Petro ecosystem, as well as a new master program in blockchain technology.

  • The Huobi group has announced the launch of a digital asset trading platform, the company's first trading solution and the first product launched within the company's GIB (Global Institutional Business) division. The press release states that Huobi Brokerage will provide digital asset trading products and services to institutional and private clients with high net worth.
  • Binance said it had invested in Numbers, a blockchain protocol focused on data tracking and monetization. The Numbers app will be integrated with Binance Chain via Zion, a hardware-based key management system, and will offer the developer community easy access to the Binance Chain for protection of the hardware portfolio, digital signature, etc.
  • Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck recently started betting on Lisk as part of a beta program and says it hopes to allow users to invest in a number of other tokens in the near future.    
  • Japanese stock exchange operator BITpoint wants to raise approximately $ 36 million in shares. Remixpoint's BITpoint platform was hacked for around $ 32 million in the summer of last year. Nikkei reports that Remixpoint hopes to use the funds to pay for the damage suffered in last year's hack, expand its cryptocurrency business and strengthen the exchange's security system.
