4 things you didn't know you could buy with Bitcoin

Everyone has become obsessed with the price of bitcoin. And they are right. This year its listing has really exploded. If you bought some last year, then you are definitely happy with the returns you have made.

What gets less attention is the fact that it is a real currency and can be used to pay for real things. In fact, you will be surprised by some of the items you can pay for with bitcoin.

Now that it's so easy to get their hands on it, many people are taking advantage of it. you can buy Bitcoin with PayPal, Steam gift card, credit card or even cash.

In this article, we will take a look at some of the things you can buy with bitcoin that you may not even be aware of.

1 - Food

The first real good in the world to be paid for with bitcoin was a pizza. How much did that pizza cost? 10.000 bitcoins! Nowadays, people usually use bitcoins to order food and coffee for breakfast or a morning snack with an app on their smartphone. So, since the first transaction was made to pay for food, the road is already open.

2 - Travel

For some obscure reason, the travel industry was one of the first to see the potential of using bitcoin as a currency of real value. For some time now, many hotels and airlines have been accepting bitcoins to book travel and flights.

Since bitcoin is international and a global currency, it means you can be anywhere in the world and take advantage of it, so it makes sense that it is used for travel.

There are some countries that have adopted the currency more than others, so if you travel to those areas, you have the option to pay for everything with bitcoin. You can book your flight, hotel and buy food where you are staying.

Additionally, many are setting up cryptocurrency ATMs so that you can use your bitcoin to pay for everything else locally if you wish.

3 - Gift vouchers

A very popular way to exchange money with people without paying high fees is to use bitcoin to buy gift cards online and then email them to people.

This is because the fees for using bitcoins are a fraction of what a credit card merchant would charge.

Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't accept bitcoins yet, so your choices must fall back to some lesser-known gift card companies. These gift cards can then be redeemed for whatever the recipient wishes to purchase online.

4 - Video games

One of the most common ways for people to use their bitcoin is to buy video games or even use coins for in-game purchases.

This all makes sense since most people who use bitcoins are young and tech savvy. Exactly the kind of person who is likely to be a gamer or buy video games.
