Elon Musk confirms that Tesla has not sold his Bitcoins

On Sunday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk had a series of heated discussions with bitcoiners, who were speculating that Musk's electric car company would sell its bitcoins or plan to sell them shortly. Discussions began after Musk announced that Tesla has suspended accepting bitcoin for payments for its cars. But why would he do it after the announcement with great fanfare a few weeks ago? According to him, it is because of the environmental problems that the BTC would unleash. Meanwhile, the token's price has plummeted.

To put an end to speculation, however, Musk confirmed on Monday morning that Tesla did not "dump" his bitcoins. In fact, he wrote: "To clarify this speculation, Tesla has not sold any bitcoins."

This clarification agrees with the statement made by Tesla when it announced it had suspended accepting bitcoin as a means of payment. The company wrote: "Tesla will not sell bitcoin and we intend to use it for transactions as soon as mining switches to more sustainable energy." Tesla cited environmental issues as the reason for all this ambaradan. The company started accepting bitcoin for payments at the end of March as we told you a few weeks ago on our pages.

Will Tesla eventually sell or hold its BTC?

Speculation that Tesla may have sold his bitcoins began when Musk replied to a tweet from the Twitter handle @cryptowhale stating, “The Bitcoiners will slap each other next quarter when they find out that Tesla has dumped the rest of the properties. in bitcoin. With the amount of hatred Elon Musk is receiving, I wouldn't blame him. ” Musk then replied: "Indeed".

Tesla bought $ 1,5 billion worth of bitcoin in the first quarter, as revealed in the company's filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). At the end of April, the company's bitcoin stash was worth $ 2,5 billion. Musk confirmed on Twitter at the time: "I didn't sell any of my bitcoins," adding that "Tesla sold 10% of his holdings essentially to prove bitcoin's liquidity as an alternative to having cash on your balance sheet." And what do you think of it? Will Tesla sell its bitcoins? Let us know in the comments section below.
