The Argentine national football selection has launched its official token

Argentina's national soccer selection launched its official token last week, with a great reception. The token that allegedly involved fans in decisions regarding the football team quickly sold out. Argentine Selection, one of the most popular football teams in the world, launched its fan token last week. The token, launched in partnership with the Socios.com platform, will allow fans to be involved in some decisions that affect their favorite team. According to a blog post on the AFA, the Argentine Football Association, fans:

"They will have the opportunity to participate in surveys, discounts, exclusive promotions and unique experiences, which will only be aimed at those who own these digital currencies."

The launch was a success, all sold out in less than three hours according to official reports. Although the sale was completed successfully, reports note that the platform faced some "problems" and was inaccessible for some time. However, more than 600 tokens were sold, giving the selection an income of over a million dollars.

The sale took place in two stages: 400 tokens were sold at two dollars each, then the price was set based on supply and demand. Each user could only purchase 250 tokens. The Argentine team is the first national selection to launch their own fan token. The president of the AFA, Claudio Tapia, said:

“Through the official tokens, fans will feel closer to our selection and will be able to participate in exclusive prizes and experiences. We are very excited about this new announcement, which strengthens the confidence of large companies in the commercial projects of the AFA ”.

Fan monetization trend

Argentina joins other teams such as Atletico de Madrid, Barcelona FC, Juventus and AC Milan in the launch of their token.
