Sold for over $ 2 million, Jack Dorsey's first NFT tweet struggles to resell

Sold for over $ 2 million, Jack Dorsey's first NFT tweet struggles to resell - 4b248d51174d35e46419ee725d660e65Last year, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey auctioned his first ever tweet as a Non-Fungible Token (NFT). This was bought by Sina Estavi, of Iranian origin, for $ 2,9 million. After the recent boom in the NFT market, the CEO of Bridge Oracle put it up for sale, looking for $ 48 million for it. He previously announced that he will donate half of the proceeds, which he estimated to be at least $ 25 million, to the US charity GiveDirectly. Interestingly, the NFT which saw high profile offers last year is currently struggling to sell.

For now, the offer remains low

According to reports, collectors offered only about 0,09 Ether ($ 277 per quotation today). The auction ended yesterday with the lowest bid of 0,0019 Ether (approximately $ 5,8). It is reported that Estavi received several bids after the auction closed, and the highest bid currently stands at 2 Ether (around $ 6167).

In a statement, he revealed that he may never sell NFT unless a good offer comes in.

Last year, when I paid for this NFT, very few people heard the name NFT. Now I say that this NFT is the Mona Lisa of the digital world. There is only one and it will never be the same again. Years later, people will realize the value of this NFT. Keep this in mind.

Estavi claims it will not sell NFT to "just anyone"

Last year, Estavi won the bid in tough competition. As a buyer, he received a digitally signed and verified certificate as well as the metadata of the original tweet from Dorsey. This includes the time it was tweeted and the content of the text. In an interview, Estavi did not appear upset at all and even stated that he will never accept “anyone's” offer, despite the current struggle to secure a worthy buyer.

I think the value of this NFT is much greater than you can imagine and anyone who wants to buy it must be worthy. I think someone like Elon Musk may deserve this NFT.

Many NFTs have been sold at high prices since they went mainstream. Last year, Beeple sold an NFT for $ 69 million, and Clock, an NFT created by artist Pak, sold for $ 52 million.

Estavi is quite popular in the crypto space, known for its creation of two crypto firms, Bridge Oracle and CryptoLand. However, they collapsed after he was arrested in Iran, and he served nine months in prison for disrupting the economic system. Bridge Oracle (BRG) tokens were initially launched on the Tron blockchain. This time it is relaunching it on the Binance Smart Chain. Estavi intends to involve its old BRG investors in its new project. He asked them to exchange their old tokens for new ones. However, as the process is handled manually, it may take up to two months to complete.
